The word Elpis is a transliteration of the Greek word for Hope. Elpis Live Community simply carries the idea of a community “having a living hope that is Christ.”  We exist as a community for the cause of the gospel.

We are here to share the Gospel of truth of our Lord Jesus Christ with the world. “His grace immeasurable and His Loyal love poured for us on that old rugged cross—defines us.(Purpose & God’s Character: Lyengamuwa).” It is very important to understand this truth every day.

The main purpose of this blog is expressed in the following questions:

Who is God?

Who is Jesus Christ?

Who is the Holy Spirit?

How does God work?

Why does the world need God’s salvation accomplished through Christ Jesus?

What does God say about the Church?

What does His Character have to do with my purpose?

We live out the truth of the gospel as a community and share it with delight to the world. This is the truth that satisfies the soul that believes: “Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent” – John 17:3

PURPOSE, MISSION STATEMENT, VISION, MISSION APPROACH,  AND SCRIPTURE FOUNDATION

SECTION 1. PURPOSE

The purpose of Elpis Live Community is to share Christ with the world, the living hope of glory. It is at the center of our purpose to have us as believers be gospel-centered, taking hold of the great commission and acting on it as the Lord commanded us.

SECTION 2. MISSION STATEMENT

Training and equipping servant leaders for every good work in the ministry of the gospel for the fulfillment of the great commission whose subject is Christ.

SECTION 3. VISION

A well-trained community of believers in the ministry of the gospel—able to live out the gospel and preached it to the end of the earth.

SECTION 4.MISSION STRATEGY

We Proclaim Christ, Admonishing and Teaching everyone with all wisdom.

SECTION 5. SCRIPTURE FOUNDATION

Now I rejoice in what was suffered for you, and I fill up in my flesh what is still lacking in regard to Christ’s afflictions, for the sake of his body, which is the church. I have become its servant by the commission God gave me to present to you the word of God in its fullness— the mystery that has been kept hidden for ages and generations, but is now disclosed to the saints. To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. We proclaim Him, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ. To this end I labor, struggling with all his energy, which so powerfully works in me.

– Col 1:24-29-
